Our sweet shy boy. A very heartbreaking and teary entry into our adoption program, Panda was surrendered under very tragic circumstances. His daddy was moving far away due to lack of income here (and being of retiring age) and would not have a steady income or situation to bring Panda into, meaning even if he could afford to relocate with Panda he would not be able to guarantee being able to afford the vet care and food he would need as an adult kitty with a previous urinary issue.

This sweet man prepared to say goodbye for weeks and couldn't bear the thought of surrendering him to a shelter. His next best option (failing to find him a home in such a short period of time) was to enter Panda into our adoption program where he would receive love in foster care. His daddy brought his favourite blankets, matts, bowls and toys and told us all of Panda's favourite foods.
The tear-jerker was not just the goodbye in itself... where all of us were in tears – but also when his daddy bashfully handed a pair of sweatpants over and apologised for them not being washed... "Panda really loves these pants... and the scent... he sleeps on them". Our hearts broke for Panda and daddy, and he broke down saying goodbye.
What an amazing daddy to know Panda deserves better stability and to love him enough to let him go in order to give him the chance at a brighter future. We salute you Panda's daddy.
He is happy and healthy he just needs the right person to come along and patiently sit with him and understand his shyness is confusion, his quietness is sadness, his lack of play is him mourning his daddy leaving but in all of these is a little kitten who's daddy rescued him and raised him... a kitten who deep down loves cuddles and playing... who deep down just needs the right person to come along and say "that's my boy now" and give him the second chance at home he truly deserves.
A little patience goes a long way and once he trusts you – he will love you for life.
