Animal Assist Trust Foundation Botswana is a registered nonprofit organization committed to helping, protecting, and advocating for animals across Botswana.

Because every life matters

Who We Are

Founded in March 2023, Animal Assist Trust Foundation Botswanais a passionate, volunteer-driven organization focused on rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need. We believe that compassion, education, and collaboration are key to building a kinder, safer world for animals — and the communities that care for them.

We are registered under Trust No: TUHGB-000011-23 and operate as a fully nonprofit, donation-based initiative.

What We Do

Our work includes:

  • Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR): Humane population control for feral cat colonies

  • Neonatal Kitten & Puppy Care: Bottle-feeding, socialization, and medical support

  • Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation: Medical care, safe shelter, and recovery for animals in distress

  • Adoption Program: Carefully matching rescued animals with loving homes

  • Advocacy & Education: Promoting better laws, responsible ownership, and compassionate action

Note: We are not a shelter, veterinary clinic, or ambulance service, but we work closely with those who are.

Why We Exist

Botswana faces a growing challenge with stray animals, neglect, abandonment and limited access to veterinary care. AATFB steps in where we can, focusing on impact, not politics. Our goal is to reduce suffering, educate communities, and speak up for those without a voice.

We’re still learning and growing. We don’t have all the answers, but we have the heart, the drive, and the community behind us. Together, we can make a difference.

Our Future Plans

We’re working toward:

  • Building a fully equipped animal sanctuary

  • Launching an animal ambulance service

  • Creating safe spaces for animals with disabilities and palliative care needs

  • Expanding our network of volunteers, fosters, and partner organizations

How You Can Help

Whether it’s fostering, donating, sharing a campaign, or adopting, you can be part of this mission. Every effort counts.
