Bella

ANI0238 Female Seal Point Siamese

Bella was wandering and lost at BPS, she weakly walked into the middle of the field and collapsed in the blazing heat. Working fast, a volunteer rushed her to the vet after a kind lady (a constant animal guardian angel in the world of rescue) called us for help. The vets immediately put her on a drip and medicine for her high fever and severe dehydration.

On day 2 of her hospitalization something amazing happened; her owners were found through people sharing our poster. They messaged us, excitedly at first... providing pictures to prove Bella was indeed their lost kitty. However, a day went by and their excitement was no longer... they didn't rush to go visit their "beloved" girl who would have died that same day on the field had she not been rushed to a vet... "we'll go see her when we have time" - a rather disappointing sentence in itself.

We waited a few more days explaining to them that Bella would soon be fit for release... they didn't seem phased until our mention of them needing to cover the vet bill for all the medicine and time hospitalised. As a non-profit and NGO foundation we reserve our funding for emergency rescues, so we were happy to find she had owners as all responsible pet owners understand it is their responsibility to provide, and cover needed medical care.

Sadly, when mention of vet bills was made, they told us "We don't want her anymore" 💔 Beautiful Bella went from owned to coldly abandoned after days spent at the vet from nearly dying, not even so much as one visit from the people she saw as family.

Beautiful and sassy Bella! What a diva 😂 Though her entry into our adoption program was sad, this warrior girl is healed and ready to bring some excitement and LOTS of talking to your (possibly overly quiet) home!
