UPDATES

Saturday 3rd June

Collected Peanut from the guy who rescued her. She was in so much pain and had to be moved in her blanket. Wound very infected and she smelt putrid. Rushed to Vet & Agric.
What looked like a massive gash turned out to be a huge burn. V&A team took over and AATFB left her in good hands.

Sunday 4th June

AATFB vists Peanut at Vet & Agric. Her spirits and appetite picking up. Still in terrible pain and on plenty of medication. Prognosis looking better than yesterday. Still such a long journey ahead of her.  We've managed to raise just over P2000 from some fantastic people. If she survives she is still going to need so much more to get her through to an adoption stage. No amount is too small. Please help.

Monday 5th June

AATFB visits Peanut at Vet & Agric. Her spirits are low today. Her pain immeasurable, her resolve inspiring, her condition heart breaking. The road to recovery will likely see many operations. Please, she needs your help. Donate today.

Tuesday 6th June

AATFB pays a daily visit to Peanut at Vet & Agric. It's heartwarming to see her recognition of us and our voices. When we step away to discuss her condition with the vets, she vocalizes her distress until we return to reassure her. The process of moving her from one cage to another is undoubtedly painful for her. We remain dedicated to providing her with the care and support she needs. 💕🐾

Wednesday 7th June

The nights are getting cold and while the vets make sure all the animals under their care get a hot water bottle, we feel taking Peanut home to recover will lift her spirits. We have consulted with the vet and they agree. We will collect her tomorrow. On the way home we spotted a starving puppy barely able to walk as it looked for food. All skin and bones and in very poor health. Need we say more what happened next?! We are monitoring Lost Dogs and Cats Botswana in the hope of meeting the owner.

Thursday 8th June

We rushed the starving, sick puppy to the vets for urgent care. She received necessary medication and we were prescribed a range of tablets to administer over the next few weeks. Afterwards, we excitedly picked up Peanut, and the two puppies shared a curious gaze during the car ride home. Peanut's incredible spirit shines through as she eagerly seeks affection, gently pushing her little face into our hands. With daily medications and regular vet visits, her healing progress and bandage changes are well-monitored. To celebrate, both pups enjoyed a special treat of pizza alongside their healthy puppy food, their little faces beamed with joy. They are recuperating inside the house in a cozy and secure indoor pen, surrounded by comfort and love as their little bodies mend. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors who have contributed to Peanut's rehabilitation. Your continued support is invaluable as she continues her journey towards recovery and finding a forever home. Please consider donating to ensure her ongoing care and well-being.
